Royal Plaza Mall was completed in 1996. The architecture and beauty of this building has practically paralysed the traffic in Oranjestad; many people want to take a picture or admire the beauty of the building which covers one whole block of the city. Under the dome of the Royal Plaza there is a nightclub called Club 2000. There are also many souvenir shops and speciality stores such as the Gap, Levi's Jeans, Benetton, and one of the few exclusive Tommy Hilfiger Stores through out the world is located in this mall. Royal Plaza Mall also has a bank and it is the home of Aruba Television Channel 15, an affiliate of NBC America. NBC America has only a few branches outside of the U.S. and Aruba is proud to be one of their branches. In addition, Royal Plaza Mall has a Setar branch (Aruba Telecommunications Service) in which you can place international or local phone calls. A post office branch is also located in the Royal Plaza Mall.
