The Experimental Farm began in 1886. The P.F.R.A. Nursery began operation in 1901. Indian Head had it's own Steam Power Plant built in 1906 that supplied the town with Electricity. Indian Head was the 1st. to have Rural Dial Telephone Service, 1st. to have Direct Long Distance Calling and Natural Gas came to town in 1960. And on Feb. 18th 2003 a Commemorative $100 14-Karat Gold Coin was Unveiled in Indian Head to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Discover of Marquis Wheat, which was developed at the Expermintal Farm in Indian Head, Saskatchewan, Canada.
