Help
i have a huge question.....we found this old black and white phote somewhere it's based in the late 40's early 50's and it has 2 grain POOL elevaters no.6 and in front it has 2 trains that collided, i was wondering if you knew where thos elavators might have been. we were thinking in beverly but were not sure...if you can help that would be great thanks !

Good collection of photos! Our farm owns the former Pool elevator at Wroxton, Sk (east of Yorkton). While it is unfortunate that so many of these facilities have been demolished, there seems to be a good number that have been purchased by farmers and private processors. It would be interesting to procure a database of privately owned elevators. ----KW

The picture of the Francis elevator is very old. The Federal elevator was knocked down I believe in 90 and new Pool elevator was built. The picture also does not show that there was a third elevator UGG now known as Agricore United. This elevator was demolished this past summer. All that is left is the Pool elevator which is no longer owned by the Pool but by some local farmers.

Thank you for the picture of the elevators in Francis,Saskatchewan. My mom was born on a farm between Francis and Sedley in the 20's.I remember Francis fondly as I spent all my childhood summers in the 50's and early 60's on the farm with my Aunt and Uncle. Your photo brings back some very special memories.

Thanks for the wonderful photos of these elevators! As we drove across Canada, I thought they had a certain beauty and fascination, they add a lot of color! I don't think most Americans realize how much wheat and etc. in grown all over western Canada, esp. And that Canada is our biggest trading partner!
