Americans believe that parrot wings should be trimmed so that they can't fly much. Britons believe that parrots should fly freely. Very few of either camp believe that parrots should be let out in the open as anything could happen, and they might not fly back.

KC believes that ours will fly back on command, and we had some success in enclosed areas. The first time we let her loose, she flew away and never came back. Luckily someone found her, and she goes out with a harness on now.
