A view up central Manhattan from the south tower observation deck of the World Trade Centre. The north tower can be seen to the left of the picture. The south tower, although the second tower to be hit during the September 11th 2001 terrorist attacks, was the first to fall. A visit to the open-air observation deck on the South Tower was always on my list of things to do during a visit to New York as it provided great vistas of the whole of Manhattan. This picture was taken during my first trip to the observation deck in July 1998.
