On a 2005 Antarctica expedition, we visited several places along, on or near the Antarctic Peninsula. To get there, we crossed the Drake Passage/Southern Ocean from Ushuaia, Argentina, to the peninsula area and back. Calm seas on the way down, 30-foot swells and hurricane force winds for part of the trip back.
