Memories happy memories
I don't visit Frfar very often so it was great to stumble onto this site and bring back so many happy memories. Keep up the good work. A tear was definitely shed a the the thought of Wellbrae shutting it was a very good school with lovely teachers and staff, Mrs Band, Miss Kay Mrs Richardson, Mrs Elder, Mrs Racioner (could never spell that name), Mrs Falconer Mr Doig and who could forget Mrs White and sister Mrs Rough.....Happy days

I am anAustralian and in 1962 I married Norman Millar in St James's Church . Norman is the son of Norman and Annie Millar who lived in Jamieson St from 1936 until 1981. Norman has lived in Sydney Australia for the last 36 years and has not been back for 20 years! However he still plays golf regularly and he learnt to play with his dad on Forfar Golf Course!Thankyou for the photos-meg and norman

Beautiful place. There is a housing estate in Singapore named after it. It is called "Forfar Heights" and is located in Strathmore Ave., Queenstown, Singapore. Most of the residents do not know why their housing estate is thus named but I believe they will be proud and happy when they see these pictures. Thanks.

Wilson family who ran Balmoral Inn
Love the site and the photos. My mother's family also relates to the Christies and Wilsons that ran the Balmoral Inn for years. Would love to talk to other relations. My mom traveled from America with her mom and dad John and Lavinia Wilson in 1936. They stayed at the adjacent Forfar Arms.

I enjoyed looking at Forfar North Primary School, or "Wellbrae" as it is now called, it evoked many happy memories. I attended the school from 1958 until 1963 when my family returned to Glasgow. I am sitting here remembering the sights, sounds and smells (new leather schoolbags, apples and milk) of happy schooldays.... Mrs Smith, Miss Fosick, Miss Lowson, Mrs Doig....
