The mere mentioned of tulips...and we would automatically conjures up the images at Kukenhof's garden in Holland during tulip blooming season.

But unbeknownst to all except a handful, tucked away in a little corner up at Maxwell Hill, Taiping Perak; lies a farm that pioneers the first ever commercial growing of tulip in tropical Malaysia. This will become the next places of interest for the locals as well as the tourists should this ventures are successful. It will complement the existing ambient and status of Maxwell Hill as a getaway from the tropical climes of the lowland.

This farm is situated a short distance from the peak jeep station ( about 3 - 4 turns uphill ). It is planted outdoor in a glasshouse with about 10 varieties of tulip plants. Admission is free but an appointment is required as the operator will advise you on the schedule when is the best time to visit and varieties in bloom.

It is an achievement of sort for the operator of this farm as the tulips needs about 15 degree C to germinate and bloom besides a plethora of other requirements not suited for the tropical climates.
