Hollywood is a major tourist attraction in Los Angeles. In its heyday, it was home to the movie industry and to the stars. After years of decline, with the industry and stars spreading around Los Angeles, Hollywood got to be rather seedy, and somewhat of a disappointment to those who visit.

There is an effort underway to revive it, with the addition of the Hollywood & Highland/Kodak Theatre complex, a few museums, posting a number of historical markers, and some general cleanup. But don't expect to see the stars - unless you happen to be there the night of a movie premiere or awards show.
