The Rosie the Riveter Memorial is a unit of the recently established World War II Homefront National Historic Park. The memorial is located on the waterfront in Richmond, CA, where a shipbuilding facility used to be. The memorial honors those who supported our World War II effort on the homefront, primarily those women who took on what were once considered man's work in the shipbuilding plants, factories and other facilities.
