California Woods Nature Preserve is located approximately ten miles east of downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. The preserve is very near the Ohio River. The preserve consists of a valley with trails on either hillside. The trails are very easy to walk with moderate grades. Steps are provided for the steeper ascents. The trails offer easy access to a wide variety of midwestern wildflowers - wild violets of all colors, trillium, wood poppies, ferns, fungi, lilys, geraniums, strawberries, dutchman's breeches and more.
