March, 2003. We actually won this trip to Aspen, so we took the entire family for one week to experience snow and ski fun. We stayed at the Wildwood hotel, which is across the street from the Silvertree, its sister hotel. We rented the skis to see what the newest style would be like. We had three day passes to the mountains. We really enjoyed the hills. They are so wide that you never feel crowded. The view at the top of Snowmass is just an amazing thing to behold. We had to keep stopping just to see the outrageous views.

We happened to be there during Mardi Gras. Collecting beads was fun and we met some really nice people. The food at the village was wonderful. Aspen is a very expensive town so we just did some window shopping. The workers at our hotel were very nice and quick to help us with any problems.

This turned out to be a great week for snow. The first night there was a 12 inch blanket of snow and two days later it acutally snowed 14inches. It seemed that everyone from town took off from work to enjoy this wonderful day. We spoke with a nice man who ran most of the rental shops and he said we had hit the best day of the year for skiing.
