We took a short trip to St. Petersburg, leaving Helsinki on a Silja Opera boat on the afternoon of April 16, 2005. We arrived the next morning, and joined a tour of the city, which ended with a couple of hours tour of the Winter Palace and a short stop on Nevsky Prospekt. The boat left again that afternoon to return to Helsinki. With such a short visit, we did not get to see a lot, but enjoyed everything we did see. Unfortunately, we didn't get pictures of many of the beautiful palaces, churches, temples, mosques etc. - in particular, we would have loved to get a picture of the amazing Cathedral of the Resurrection!
