I took these on a day trip from Anchorage. I stopped in Girdwood to snowmobile (no photos of that) and then visited the Alyeska resort. It is an awesome hotel, upscale, but set in the mountains with a great ski resort. You can go to http://www.alyeskaresort.com and see about it and even see a live webcam of the ski area. I headed toward Seward but because of the icy road, and the immenent darkness, I did not get there. However, I did stop at Big Game Alaska. It is nothing big, but has some neat, live animals. I was super impressed with the beauty of this area but people say the summer is even better. The pictures do not really do it justice because the sun was not out that often. But when the sun came out, the view were awesome.
