<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> HMS Barham c1929<br> picture - HMS Barham ship&#39;s crest: &#34;On a field Blue, a Wyvern Gold ducally gorged Silver, bearing in its mouth a laurel sprig&#34; (this courtesy www.naval-history.net &#60;http://www.naval-history.net&#62;) Her &#34;B&#34; turret rifles show a series of &#34;rings&#34; along their length. These support the framework above her rifle barrels on which the planks which extend the flying-off platform on top of &#34;B&#34; turret are located, when the platform is in use. The brackets in the foreground are presumably part of the framework used to support the awnings sometimes used to provide shade on deck. Regards, Jon Summers </div></nolayer></noembed>
