<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> Barham in Malta<br> picture - To the right of Barham is HMS Warspite, shortly after her first major post-war refit. At this time (c. 1926) Warspite was the only Queen Elizabeth class ship to have completed her 1st major post war refit, so was the only ship of the class with her twin funnels trunked into a single unit. NB Barham, with twin funnels on the left, does not have anti-torpedo bulges fitted, whereas Warspite, on the right with the trunked funnel, which doesn&#39;t show up too well in these photos, does have anti-torpedo bulges fitted. HMS Warspite had recommissioned in the UK after her refit on 6 Apr 1926, and had sailed for the Mediterranean, arriving at Malta on 20 May 1926, where she took up duties as Flagship of the C-in-C, Mediterranean Fleet. Meanwhile, HMS Queen Elizabeth, the 2nd of the class to receive this refit, and formerly Flagship of the C-in-C, Mediterranean Fleet, came home to refit in the same month, paying off in the UK for her 1st major refit just six days later, on 26 May 1926.
