An original painting by RJ Lippiett of BARHAM, steaming at 10 knots through the Straits of Gibraltar into the Atlantic Ocean. The Rock of Gibraltar is on her starboard beam. She was in the Mediterranean Fleet in 1925 before returning home for a major reconstructionand constructing anti-torpedo bulges. The painting is in acrylic on stretched canvas on a wooden frame and measures 16"x12". It has the initials RJL on the front and is signed by the artist on the back. R John Lippiett served fo 36 years in the RN, the last 6 as an admiral, and he commanded 3 warships. His paintings have been sold internationally over the last 5 years and he has increasingly been commissioned to paint First and Second World War ships of the Royal Navy.
