<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> Drawing of Malaya, not Barham<br> picture - Always difficult with drawings rather than photos, but this drawing seems to be of HMS Malaya, in the early WWII period, after her 2nd between-the-wars refit, and before her aircraft were landed due to the advances in radar. In her 2nd refit she was given a pair of hangers, one either side of her funnel, a pair of large cranes, again one either side of her funnel, outside of her hangers, and a fixed athwartships catapult, in the gap between her funnel and her mainmast. She also received a number of gun tubs for light AA weopons and a number of revisions to her superstructure and other equipment. She retained a pole mainmast, and was never fitted with an Admiral&#39;s walkway. </div></nolayer></noembed>
