<noembed><nolayer><div style="position:absolute; left:0; top:-100; display:none;"> Taken between 1929 &#38; 1934<br> picture - Wow ! - stunning photos, but not Barham, which at the 1935 Review at Spithead had a tripod mainmast, a catapult on &#34;X&#34; turret and an Admiral&#39;s walkway on her stern . These 3 photos are of HMS Malaya, after her 1st between-the-wars refit (Sep 1927 to Mar 1929), and before her 2nd major refit (Oct 1934 to Dec 1936). 1 No admiral&#39;s walkway on the stern, so not QE, Warspite or Barham. 2 Malaya and Valiant are v. similar after their 1st between-the-wars refits but they differed as follows: i) The type of searchight towers fitted around the funnel: ii) Aircraft facilities Because she was given a catapult on her quaterdeck in her 1st major refit, Valiant lost the &#34;flying off platforms&#34; she carried previously on &#34;B&#34; and &#34;X&#34; turrets. Malaya, on the other hand, didn&#39;t received a catapult until her 2nd major refit, so after her 1st refit retained her &#34;B&#34; and &#34;X&#34; turret flying off platforms - as in this photo. </div></nolayer></noembed>
