United Kingdom picture - 13th century Great Hall. Stokesay Castle is located near to the South Shropshire town of Craven Arms and was built by Lawrence of Ludlow. Although Lawrence drowned only a few years later his descendants continued living at Stokesay for many generations until it was sold in 1598 to Sir George Mainwaring.
