These photos are from an AMAZING four day trip through southwest Bolivia (March 2003). This was a mind-blowing landscape, all the way.

The Salare de Uyuni is 26000 km squared, and 15m deep. Solid salt. After the rain, there's a thin layer of water over the salt, which gives perfect mirror images of the sky. Without water, there's still a mirage effect that creates reflections of distant mountains, making them apear as islands floating above the ground.
