This article shows pics made during walk from Bradlo hill (543.1 m above the sea level) to Košariská in southern rim of Biele Karpaty (White Carpaths) in W Slovakia and back. The views to S show the N rim of Malé Karpaty (Small Carpaths). Malé Karpaty have more articulated crest, with dense and deep forests, while Biele Karpaty have wider crest and more population living nearby, in small mountain settlements called „kopanice“. The one-way walk takes around 55 minutes, where 25 minutes takes the walking on quite densely forested Bradlo crest, populated with young frondose trees; 15 minutes of walking down from the crest throughout meadows and fields to the road between Brezová pod Bradlom and Vrbové, where Košariská village is located and then, the walk continues alongside this road (15 minutes) until you arrive to the Lutheran church in the opposite end of the village.
Bradlo hill (starting point) is the grave of M. R. Štefánik (see my article on Bradlo in http://www.worldisround.com/articles/164165/index.html) and the church in Košariská (end point) is his birthplace. So, for those interested in Slovak history, this walk has certain extraordinary feeling.
I made it during the 2004 summer, when the vegetation is exuberant. The crops in the fields are ripe. Definitively, the walk is nicest at this period of year. The day was cloudy and very quiet. The pics are ordered chronoligically as the walk develops. Enjoy them.
