The Vangai River cut almost the center of the city from the suburb Sellur. From dawn to dusk many dobi-man and women come here to do their laundry reshaping the view of the river to a laundry landscape. The water is coming from the Vangai-dam, an immense water-resevoir, a place where local people go in weekends to take a walk in the parc at the feet of the dam.
