No he is not Tamil as you can tell from his clothes. He is a tourist, an Indian one that for sure. They come by busses from other states making tours to Tamil Nadu and then the Meenakshi is on top of the list. Indians like to travel a lot. Sitting across the street just outside the Meenakshi temple, isolated by all the noise, sheltered in the shade, he was all attention to his notebook, not even noticing me as I was part of the noise to be shut-down by his concentration.
