Haiti (medical missions trip)

In November of 2002, my husband and I went on a medical missions trip with a friend that owns a medical clinic in 2 villages in Haiti. We went with a team of nurses, and a medical doctor to provide help to those who were without medicine. We were able to help many people who walked up to 12 hours to find us. Each evening we had church services, and were able to visit with the people. I found a great pocket dictionary of Haitian Creole to English and a Phrase Book published by Hippocrene Books in New York. The author's name is Charmant Theodore. It has helped many of on our team to get hold of a few Creole words just when they were needed.

My brother was a priest/missionary in Haiti for 18 years. He died in November. We are dealing with his "estate" with difficulty. You have some wonderful pictures! I'm part of an organization called Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children, and am the web designer for the chapter at my college, the University of Soutnern California. We do community service with local youth and also raise money to provide for medical supplies and the building of pediatric clinics in underserved areas around the world. As our chapter has just started a few months ago, we have not gone on any medical missions ourselves, but I would like to have some pictures on the web page to help put a face to our goal of helping children. Great photos! We are asking for permission to use your photo #7 as a backgroud for a poster for a church project where we are begining raise money for missions and ministry projects around the world. We would use it as a light background image to promote farmer grown Ugandan coffee that we will be packaging and offering to churches for fundraising projects.
