I have passed through Monument Valley several times over the years on my way to or from Moab, Utah. But each time I planned to stop at Monument Valley Tribal Park I had overcast weather. For my 2004 Utah/desert southwest trip, I spent 3 nights in Mexican Hat to be well-positioned for a sunny day tour of Monument Valley. Monument Valley Tribal Park is on Navajo Nation lands and straddles the Utah/Arizona border.
