Navajo National Monument is in northeastern Arizona, surrounded by the Navajo Nation. It preserves the Betatakin and Keet Seel ruins. Access to the ruins is limited, but you can see Betatakin Ruins from the Sandal Trail. In spite of the name of the park, these ruins are not from ancient Navajos. The Navajo are Athabascan people who left northern Canada in the late 1500s. These pictures are from my 2004 visit to the park.
