Blue Ridge Summit is approximately 60 miles northwest of the great city of Baltimore Maryland. It was developed as a summer community for wealthy Baltimoreans in an era before the advent of air conditioning. They would take the Western Maryland Rail Road to town during the summer because the weather was often cooler then in the big city.
