Superstar Virgo the cruise ship.

The cruise ship Superstar Virgo visited Adelaide on its way to Melbourne. It is the largest cruise ship to visit Adelaide. It is 76,800 tonnes, 268 metres long, 32.2 metres wide, it cruises at 25 knots. It can carry 1,960 passengers in 980 cabins with a crew of 1,100. I was able to get some pics of it so enjoy. Also in November we are getting a visit from the Cruise ship Star Princess which is 108,800 tonnes, 289 metres long and 36 metres wide.

Almost 2,000 passengers huh? That's really a BIG cruise ship! BTW, I checked-out your Atherton Tableland article, the waterfalls are great! Too bad I missed Cairns back in '96, only made it to Townsville but really enjoyed that town as well as the rest of Western Aussie. Will surely go back to your beautiful country in the near future, so big & so much to see! Best regards!!!

Awesome ship! Not many of these make it to Honolulu Harbor these days. Back in the 40s and 50s, boat arrival used to be quite an event with a lot of music and hula dancing. Anyway, I doubt that our small harbor is able to accomodate a ship of this size!
