My Grandfather was born in 1810, near the small village of Eskdalemuir (red spot on map) in Dumfries & Galloway, in the southwestern part of Scotland. He immigrated to Canada in 1832 and when he was 63 my father was born. My father was 60 when I was born, and I'm 70 now... so it was a long time ago! My husband and I made this trip to Scotland to find my Great-Grandfather's grave and to see where my roots are. We spent 5 days in this lovely, unhurried part of Scotland, mostly on secondary roads and enjoying all the things to see there. Here are some pictures of our trip.....
