On the way home to Giardini-Naxos, we encountered a herd of goats without their goat herder wandering the streets of Giarre, sampling the greenery from every hedge in town. Mind you, this is in the residential area of the town, with cars and goats mingling together without anyone giving them a second glance. There is often little separation of urban and rural in Sicily as we shall see later in Sciacca.
