About 10,000 Australians attended Lone Pine after the Dawn Service. This ceremony was respectfully happy and more of a celebration of the efforts from 90 years ago.Whether sitting in the temporary stands or among the headstones, the atmosphere was just as poignant. Just before the ceremony began, the Master of Ceremonies invited any older veterans in the stands to come forward to the reserved seating at the front of Lone Pine. Diggers rose from the stands, walked down the stairs, and through the crowds to the front - and received a standing ovation for at least 10 minutes. This was my second moving moment of the day, and is unforgettable.
