Altar of Salamanca's Catedral Vieja
Sightseeing in Spain picture - The altarpiece of the main altar in the Old Cathedral hosts one of the most important pictorial works found in Salamanca, made in 1445 by Nicolás Florentino. The work is made up of 54 painted tables, crowned by the Last Judgment, where the Virgin's and Christ's life are narrated. In addition, the altar is presided by the Virgin of the Fertile Valley, patron of the city, carved in wood except the hands and the head, which are made of bronze.
