We returned in November 1999 and November 2001. We used Firenze as a base for our day-trips by car and train in and around Tuscany. For each visit, we stayed at the convent of the Oblate dell'Assunzione.
Firenze has a dynamic duomo, many museums, plus plenty of picturesque "street shrines," street markets, food markets, and interesting shop windows. (Sometimes we ate at restaurants; often we picnicked.) ... (more)
