These two gentlemen guard the famous stautue of King Sumoni, the ruler of much of this territory in the 9th century. Like most Tajikistanis, they are very friendly and curious about the West. Many of their friends had moved to Western countries, and they themselves wished to travel, even if only to meet up, once again, with their long-lost friends.
