That was our first overseas back-pack experience with another three lady friends. We decided to go 1-2 weeks prior to the departure date, with the information provided by Eric, an AE member. Without his help, our dream would definitely not come true. Special THANK YOU to Eric!

It is only a 9 Days trip. However, we managed to travel from the northern to southern Vietnam, covering Hanoi, Halong Bay (The Unesco WHS), Hue, Hoi An, My Son (another Unesco WHS), Dalat and Ho Chih Min City. We did not make it for Cu Chi Tunnel because we were overwhelmed by shopping in HCM City.

We spent RM1,600 (USD420)/pax for the trip ex-Penang, Malaysia, as per our budget.

We joined the local tour package to both Perfume Pagoda, Halong Bay and Myson. In Hanoi, Hue and Dalat, we hired a cab for city tour. The travel from Hanoi to HCM City by aircond Open Bus Ticket which costs us only USD18. We stopped and overnight at Hoi An, Dalat and HCM City.

The weather was a bit cold in Hanoi(winter), and pretty misty in Halong Bay and on the way to Perfume Pagoda. Weather at HCM is just like Malaysia.

The hawker food was very delicious and cheap. However, you must asked for the price and bargain to avoid paying more. I still miss the noodle sup there.
