Malta: Charles Bray took this picture from the boat of another view of Fort St. Angelo. The Fort of St. Angelo during the Great Siege, played a great role by the Grand Master Jean de la Valletta and the battle for Fort St Angelo are legendary. In 1565, the Ottoman Turks, despite starting with superior forces, lay siege to the Knights for several months but failed to take St Angelo, or conquer Malta.
