Cospicua The Shipbuiding Docks.
Scenery in Malta picture - Malta: Charles Bray took this picture from Barrakka Gardens with a view of Cospicua [Bormla in Maltese] were you could see the cranes on the right side. These impressive fortifications were meant to protect the Cities from inland attack during the wars. The area also benefited from the docks, shipbuilding and trade. Since the middle Ages, ship building and repair have been trades of the Cottonera. Present-day Malta still has shipyards in Cospicua and Senglea.
