Carnaval del Toro in Ciudad Rodrigo Sightseeing in Spain picture - As in the rest of Spain, there are many fiestas in Ciudad Rodrigo. Perhaps the biggest and most well-known of these is the Carnaval del Toro which takes place over 5 days in February or March every year (arguably the oldest festival of its kind in Spain). There are bulls in the streets (many a brave/crazy Spaniard is to be seen running in front of the bulls), and also "corridas". It may not be everyone's cup of tea of course, but there is plenty of dancing and singing in the streets, and if you like going out then a good time is guaranteed, as generally no one sleeps for the duration of the festival!
