In November of 1964 The Verrazzano Narrows Bridge opened in New York . At that time it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. Giovannni da Verrazzano discovered New York bay. He was born here at the castle back in 1485. In the castle wall lies a plaque commemorating the bridge along with three stones from New York. At the foot of the bridge lies a plaque with three stones from the castle.
