Canakkale is a very clean, modern city. Our tour didn't stay there, but I would have liked to stop for a day or two and have a look around this vibrant place (next time!). Turkish flags are everywhere in many cities, draped from business buildings, apartment blocks or small humble farmhouses. The flag is flown as a proud symbol of a proud nation.
