The Nubra valley lies north of the Himalaya range, beyond the Indus river and beyond Leh, the capital of Ladakh. It is nested below the Karakoram montains, on the border of Tibet. For years it was closed to tourists. Only since 1995 is the travel to the Nubra valley permitted. There are only few villages in the valley. It feels as if one has reached the end of the world.
