I assume that one cannot rent a place to live in Kapadokya, but please let me know if this is in fact possible.

I am quite jealous. The sites which you have photographed put my present city to absolute shame. You walk past gates of antiquity on your way to work; I have a bulldozed apartment complex that was built in my lifetime and then knocked down about one month ago to my right, and a still standing complex of people boxes to my left whose aesthetics could move the communists up north to weep, and everyone else to shudder.
