Type of journey: naturalistic
This trip lasted two weeks, April-May 2003, and covered the central and north-west part of Namibia; we were three with a local guide, driving his own Toyota cruiser. These 59 pictures of Namibia are selected from almost 1,000 images I shot on this trip. This was my equipment: Nikon F-90x and Nikon F80 cameras; Zoom Nikon 28-70 AF Nikkor 1:3,5-4,5D; Zoom Nikon 80-400 AF VR Nikkor 1:4,5 5,6D; Zoom Sigma 18-35 D 1:3,5 4,5; Flash Nikon SB-28. I used 100,200 and 400 Fuji slide film; I used only polarizing and UV filters. The selected slides were digitalized with a Nikon Coolscan IV ED scanner. Photoshop was used only to enhance some parameters, like contrast and sharpness. I hope you will enjoy looking at them, and I look forward to receiving your comments. Things to remember: The encounters with Himba people Sossuvlei and the red dunes at dawn The flight over the Namib desert and the atlantic desertic coast Thousands of pink flamingos in Walvis Bay The desolation of Skeleton Coast All the wild animals in Etosha The evenings in the Etosha resorts looking at animals by the waterholes The sunsets Plan of the journey: Italy Johannesburg Windhoek Namib Naukluft Park Sossusvlei Swakopmund Walvis Bay Skeleton Coast Damaraland Twyfelfontein Petrified Forest Kaokoveld - Opuwo Epupa Falls Etosha National Park Windhoek - Johannesburg - Italy You can see the photos about this journey and others of mine, in the Webshot site at the address: http://community.webshots.com/user/arasetti
