Postcards from Ukraine-Rohatyn District

The Rohatyn District is one of my ancestral homes as my paternal grandparents were born in villages very near the town of Rohatyn. It was a great enjoyment to be able to see the places from whence they came. I found the area quite beautiful and surprisingly like the area they eventually settled at in Upstate New York. Enjoy!

Thank you for the pictures. My dad grew up in Rohatyn from 1913-1929. These pictures finally stirred up some wonderful memories for him.

Great to see a few pics of the Ukraine. Anyone heard of a village named Knyhynicze? My dad was born there, studied in Lemberg (now Lviv?) and was drafted into the Wehrmacht right in the middle of his college education. Russian war prisoner for years and then re-located to Germany where he still lives. Always wanted to go "home" to visit but the iron curtain prevented that. Thanks for any info you can provide me with. Barbara
