The photos are fab. And Angus seems to rapidly becoming a computer-whizz kid. He really seems to have mastered the art of the internet!!!! (Perhaps he could try to pass the basics onto my parents:) So glad the walk is going well. As I said earlier I love showing the photos to all the Americans here so that they get to see what Britain really looks like. Some of the photos I've sent onto Iraq as well if that is ok. I just hope that it doesn't entice all and sundry to our little green isle. Enjoy the rest of the walk (if walk is the right word....more like marathon.) Take care and hopefully will see you around Xmas for our annual walk to the pub!!! That will be about all I will be able to manage by then. The photos of the highlands are beautiful. I recently read Kidnapped (R. L. Stevenson) which takes place in the region you are traversing, and in that era it was considered an ugly barren desert. Interesting how our viewpoints change.

Smelly tent!
Poor you - sounds like you could do with a little home comfort! I really hope the midges and the smelly tent are not too dispiriting. Looking at the map update, your feat so far has been astonishing, and I really admire your endurance. Wishing you all the best, and will write again soon, but I am starting a rather hectic round of trips to the alps over the next few weeks - sounds more fun than it is, believe me!! We are rapidly approaching Oban on the West coast of Scotland. Congratulations to Harry and Viv on your engagement. Midges tolerable at the moment, but life on the road is getting tough: we thought we were pitching next to a dead sheep the other day, the smell was so bad, but it turned out to be the tent that was ponging!
