The inn stays away from the ubiquitous English-inspired design which prevails throughout the highlands' towns of Ringlet, Tanah Rata and Brinchang.

Rather, Merlin Inn opts for a more European resort touch. Nonetheless, the lobby and the lounge looked fairly English - with fire place, wooden furniture and red brick walls.

The resort itself is located some 1,600-meter above sea-level, providing the area with cool and crisp air. My room did come with heated water, but there was neither room heater nor air conditioner, which you won't need anyway. The temperature was fairly cool in the area, with occasional mist and drizzles.
