Hi Nigel,
Thx for ur comment. The chee cheong chok that I like most is at Cintra St, outside a coffee shop on the left of the road near the junction out to Chulia St. It opens only fr Mon - Fri, 2pm to around 5pm. Another one at New Lane also not bad.

Hi Cassy,
Thanks for your comment. Lamian is not a local delicacy and also not that common in Penang. You may only find it common in places like Xinjiang, Qinghai & Gansu (esp Lanzhou) of China.

Yummy Delicacy
I was praying hard that I can see "La Mian" as one of your displayed food in the list but I was quite disappointed. I'm not a local and I tried to ask everyone whom I know for this "La Mian" but none of them know it. Please help! Thanks :)Btw, you have done a great job on compiling the foods list.

Well done Yue Li The assorted kueh can be broken down into numerous very distinct items such as Gao deng kueh, the one with a few layers with different colours, Huat Kueh, Ang Ku, etc, etc. My saliva flows just looking at these photos!!! Every time I go back to Penang, I must eat Hokkien mee everyday once, before eating other thing, especially kueh tiao teng. Thanks for keeping my desire to go back to Penang alive.

Pics are the best I've come across so far.Keep it up ! Definitely mouth watering by just looking at it. Been there to savour some of the delights but not enough time to really chomp away the rest of what Penang food has to offer. Hope to be back soon.

Dear Yue Li I was searching for some Penang food shop and saw your blog. You have done a fabulous job and have all my favourite food posted there. Oh... how I wish I can eat the Kuih Chiap now. So long I have miss this food ever since I had it at Air Itam coffee shop next to a cinema and Kek Lok Si Market. And all the yummy food there. Well done Yue Li, all these food remind me of the good old time that I spent with friends hunting for food at every corner of Penang. I have to go home to Penang to give myself a really good treat after being away for 4 years, I can never find anything comparable in London or any part of Europe, it is time to go home, time to go home ............
