I didn't see much of the town, it just seemed like a typical regional town, and I didn't have a huge amount of time.
The cathedral, or Duomo, was as spectacular as I'd heard. Outside it is quite pretty, but inside it is incredible. There is barely a surface that is not covered in mosaics and frescoes. The cathedral was built in the 12th Century AD, the mosaics are thought to be the work of Greeks and Byzantines, and the mosaics are one of the finest examples of Sicilian-Norman art.
It was a little difficult to get good photographs due to the lack of light and the sheer size of the place, but I did my best.
