Taormina is a lovely little town, perched high up on a hill above the ocean, reminding me a little of Positano on the Amalfi coast.

The town has lots of history, dating back to the Greeks and the Romans, today keeping a mediaeval look. It is quite a small town, easily walkable, although the day I was there it was extremely hot so was quite tiring.

It is known as Sicily's premier tourist resort, but it didn't really seem that way to me. There were a lot of tourists there, but it still had a small town quality to it, and ... (more)
